The Pumpkin Patch!!!

If you're looking for a great place to go, then Bauman Farms in Gervais, Oregon is your place. This farm has a petting zoo, a couple of hay mazes, a giant jumping "pillow", Corn and Seed "sand box", huge slides, zip lines, fresh pressed apple cider, cider donuts, a great flower and produce market, a pumpkin patch and a corn maze. (I'm sure there's more, that was off the top of my head)
Wyatt woke up last Saturday morning on the wrong side of the bed. I think he fell off the wrong side of the bed, because he was in a terrible mood. It made it very hard to get out of the house in a timely manner to meet every one on time. It's about an hour drive for us to get to the pumpkin patch, but it's worth it.
So we were about an hour late, which threw our day off a bit. But as soon as we got there, Wyatt shaped up and had a blast. We started out in the petting zoo and then moved inside to play in the corn and seed "sandbox". Ryan made a beeline to the cider and dounuts. The kiddos always have such a good time in the corn. While we were in that certian barn it started pouring down rain. We took the kids down a giant slide, and oh my goodness. Do you think Wyatt was scared to go by himself? Look at those eyes!! As soon as he got to the bottom and everyone clapped for him, he was all smiles. He loves that attention.
We made it over to the giant jumping pillow right as the sky let loose and poured down rain. This was so much fun, and we just played in there and waited out the rain. The sun soon came out and we went on with our day. We had lunch and Wyatt was tuckered. We still hadn't made it down to the pumpkin patch yet. Oh my goodness, he was trying so hard to stay awake to go get a pumpkin. Poor baby, he just laid his head down and fell asleep...he was talking in his sleep though saying "go get a pumpkin".
Knowing that we couldn't go get pumpkins while he was asleep, Ryan and I decided to take him to the little pumpkin patch in town where we live sometime that weekend.
Well, he woke himself up when my mom went to put him in his carseat and pitched a royal fit wanting to go get a pumpkin. So, back to the pumpkin patch we went. He wasn't in the ideal mood for taking pictures or picking out pumpkins. But, he picked out a cute little pumpkin and the day was complete.
Despite the turbulence in Wyatt's mood and the weather it was a fantastic day of fun with a huge chunk of the family!
I picked 20 of my favorite pictures, out of over 300. I also added a slide show on the right hand side with more fun pictures of our day.
Enjoy!

Just Dropping in...

...to tell you about a little contest that's going on.
Now, you're gonna look at it and say, she doesn't have a baby.
Well...poo.
I might have one again someday.
But, it would be a great gift or fun to keep for "someday"
So I'm entering it anyway.
I went to my monthly mom's group this morning and the talk today was all about finances. The speaker gave a few blog sites that she looks at all the time...So, during nap time I decided to peruse them and see what I could find.

I found this site at just the right time. It's her blog's 2 year anniversary and she's doing giveaways all week.
There is a chance for 3 entry's and the 3rd is if you link the contest to your blog.

So here it is!!!
I love the prize.
Maybe "someday" I would be able to use it.
Ha.

"Want Some Grits"

My little boy is the only kid I know that lives in the Northwest and loves grits. He really loves them. This is not just a passing phase either. At least a year ago, we started ordering them for him at Bob's Red Mill. It was love at first bite.
We go there quite a bit throughout the year and everytime, he looks forward to the waterwheel and the grits. The last time we were there, they RAN OUT of grits. Come on now...how do you run out of grits when you are a "whole grain store". So we ordered him fried grits instead...he loved them too.
Someone at our church is a gleaner, (I think it's a group for people that are low income) and every once in awhile there will be food sitting on the pew by the front door (for anyone to take). Well one Sunday there was a bag of grits that Grammy Clay saved for Wyatt.
We got through that bag and last week, I had to buy some more.
I'm thinking grits are here to stay!!!

Potty Training...Finally...Sort Of.

I have been pretty stand offish on the whole potty training thang.
Sometimes it's just easier to change a diaper than to be consistent with asking a 2 year old incessantly if they have to go to the bathroom.
It's inevitable though. It must be done.
I've just started introducing it.
And much to both of our delight and surprise...he's doing very well.
We bought him PullUps and are trying to call them "big boy underwear".
Last Thursday, the I put him on his little potty chair and he went....HE WENT!! The first time.
When I started cheering, his little face lit up and he was so proud of himself. He called daddy and told him.
He went twice that day for me, once for daddy, and once for Babu and Papa on Sunday.
So, we're just going slowly but surely for right now.
One of these weekends though, we are going to set aside some time and really concentrate on potty training.
Anyway, I don't have anything that I write in anymore except for this, so....sorry if this is gross for some of you.
This is how I'm keeping my records!!

I'm so proud of my little guy.

I did it...

I've been contemplating it for months now....
I signed up for AdSense.
There have been a couple of articles on Yahoo recently on how much money people are making by having ads on their blogs.
Well, I'm not in the biz of making lots of money off my blog, but I did figure that I could put ads on here. If there is anything that interests you, by all means, click on it.
I know that I don't have a high traffic blog, nor do I aspire to.
I started this blog to have fun and keep family and friends updated on the goings on of our life. To share some of my photography and cooking and occasionally gardening...but mostly LOTS of Wyatt. Ha.
Anyway, here's the plan...
If I end up making any money, I plan on passing the earnings on to you in the form of fun contests like this one.
Thats all, this is just an experiment, if it doesn't work, I'll take them off. But I thought it might be fun to try.

A What? Huh? What the...?

Sunday afternoon, Ryan and I were on the 205 freeway, on the way to "the little house". Just driving along minding our own business. Until we saw something that diverted our attention. So, picture this....
A Subaru Outback Wagon. Very similar to the one that I drive and pray every day that it will get stolen and torched so we are forced to buy a new one. (another story)
Anyway, this Subaru was a little newer than ours.
And in the back, right in the middle, was a big dog kennel. I mean this was the biggest kennel that could have fit in the back of a Subaru Outback wagon.
So, lodged on either side of this kennel was something that made us look a little closer.
We thought it might have been a dog. But we were curious. So, we got a little closer, our curiosity getting the best of us, and just as we pulled up next to the car, this thing looked at us.
Oh my gosh....it was a sheep.
A SHEEP!!!
The car was not only stuffed with 2 sheep, but it was full of people up front.
The second I figured out what it was one of the passengers looked up at me....right as my hand was flying up to my mouth in stifled laughter. It was only stifled for a second, because Ryan just absolutely lost it. By now all of the passengers and the driver are looking at us and laughing too.
What can I say...it was hilarious.
I had my camera with me, so I snapped a couple of pictures.
The giant lamby was pretty camera shy...you can't see it's face. But, trust me. It was a SHEEP.
