Ouchie!

Monday morning started out with "potty training bootcamp". This is something that Wyatt and I have been talking about for the last week and a half or so. So, every 20 minutes the timer would be reset and we took about a million trips to the bathroom. He did pretty darn good for the first day, and didn't have an accident until the end of the day when they all kinda snowballed.
Tuesday, we started all over again and, to say the least, it was not going well.
After his nap, he was on the couch halfway watching a movie and mostly horsing around on the couch. Since we were potty training, I was letting him just wear undies & a t-shirt and watch movies. There are only so many kiddie movies a person can watch, so I was doing other things in the room...and BAM. I heard a very loud SPLAT, spun around, Wyatt was flat on his tummy. From what I can gather he was most likely jumping off of the arm rest onto the couch and went the other way. Well, he started crying very hard, and that was a sign that he was actually hurt. He has a very high tolerance to pain and very rarely cries when I think he probably should. And, it wasn't just the initial scared cry. He cried off and on for the next hour, which was throwing up the red flags all over the place. So, I called his dr. office to see if they had capabilities to do an x-ray, they didn't. We would have been sent to the hospital for x-ray's, and since it was getting late, they suggested that I take him to Urgent Care. So, after calling to find out what our insurance covers and to make sure that they were in-network, we were on our way.
Ryan was making his way there from DT, but since he takes the Max, it's a slow go. My parents met me there, and thankfully they weren't very busy at the Urgent Care. Ryan made it before we saw the doctor.
Wyatt let the doctor (actually a P.A.) poke and prod him without wincing, leading the dr. to believe that he didn't have any broken bones. The doc did not, however, lift his arm or go to pick him up under his armpit. And I kept telling him that that was when he was in pain. I could tell that he didn't really want to do x-rays but he said he would if we wanted him to. We decided that since we were already there, and paid our co-pay, we might as well have the x-rays done.
The x-rays revealed a broken clavical bone. They call it a greenstick break, which means that it did not need to be set, thank God. We were sent home with a belt contraption that is designed to keep his shoulders back.
Sigh.
My poor baby has just not been himself. And he's been getting progressively worse as the days go on. Today, he refused to get out of bed by himself. He just laid there and waited for me to help him sit up and get out of his bed. He pretty much lounged on the couch all day, and if he would slide down off the pillow on the couch he'd call me over to lift him back up. After his nap, he called for me to come into his bedroom. There he was, laying flat on his back, waiting for me to come help him up.
Anyone that knows Wyatt, knows that this is not even close to normal...not even a speck.
Also, today, he's been practically dragging his arm around and it's drooping like he had a stroke. We're praying that he's feeling like his old spunky self soon.

There was a silver lining to our day. My good friend Jackie brought Luke (and Nat) over, bearing lots of fun activities and snacks that can all be done (and eaten) from the couch. Wyatt perked up for that, and played with Luke and his new toys. It was such a nice thing for my lethargic boy, what a blessing. I wish I would have taken a picture of how pathetic he looked this morning so I could have had a before and after. But he was so excited to see them that I had to take a couple of pictures.

In the pictures, I can still see how stiff he is and the droopiness in his arm...can you?

Needless to say, potty training has been indefinitely placed on hold....really not looking forward to starting that up again!

The Day The Angels Were Singing....

Some of you know that we've had VBS all week. I've been doing the pictures and Wyatt has had his first real class (not just in the nursery). He's in a little 3's & 4's class with his cousin Carson. So Carson & Wyatt have been doing the rotation to some of the activities but they are modified for their age.
Anyway, yesterday, we had alot of driving because we went home to relax for a couple hours. Then, we came back into town for Ryan's double header softball game. I left early enough to run a couple of errands that needed to be done, and to say the least, I was not having a very good trip. I got cut off by a senior citizen, and then pulled over by a police officer for unlawful use of a horn. (apparently that's a moving violation) (But I didn't get a ticket, just a warning) (phew)! Immediately after that, I went to Costco and was patiently waiting for a spot with my blinker on. This older Mercades was circling like a shark, and long story short, ended up stealing my spot. (Isn't stuff like that so maddening?) Oh man, my blood was boiling, but after just being pulled over, I kept myself much more in check than I would normally have. But I did have a few things to say to her, including, "that's a good way to get your car keyed"!!! I didn't stick around, just returned something and picked up my pictures. (5 min maybe) Apparently, my little comment sunk in because by the time I left, her car was gone. (The human nature in me ((evil)) just had to laugh at that) (Right or wrong, it's the truth).

So, the point and wonderful part of this story is that Wyatt was singing a song that they sing in VBS. "Heaven is a wonderful place, filled with glory and grace, I'm gonna see my Savior's face, cuz heaven is a wonderful place....I wanna go there"
All of a sudden, he stopped and said, "I wanna go to heaven". So I told him that he could go to heaven if he asked Jesus to live in his heart and forgive his sins. I just let him mull that over for awhile and he went back to singing. And then he said it again. And I told him again what he needed to do....and I asked if he wanted to do that. He said yes! So, right there in the middle of the Target parking lot, I crouched down and prayed the prayer with him. It was so sweet!! And then I told him that the angels were singing and celebrating up in heaven because of what he'd just done. I was his age when I was saved, and I think it's one of my first memories. We've talked about it in the past, but this was the first time he said he was ready.
We are some pretty proud parents!
And needless to say, it turned my day around in a snap.

Ultrasound Day!

It's a girl!
I'm glad it's a girl because I was so worried that I would be momentarily disappointed.
She looks to be a beautiful and healthy little girl...which of course, is most important.
Her name has been changed from Pinhead to Allegra, it means "joyful". I was looking for a name than meant "peaceful", since Wyatt's name means "little warrior" and lately he's been living up to it. But I figured that joyful was a good sign! :)

There was one piece of bad news, that, if I'm being honest, put a damper on my day. The placenta is too low and if it doesn't move up naturally I will have to schedule a C-section. My doctor said that in my case only about 5% don't fix themselves. But, I have to wait for 9 weeks though to see if it has moved up on it's own. Until then, I have to really take it easy, or I run the risk of being put on bed-rest. I want to avoid bed-rest at ALL costs, especially with a busy 3 1/2 yr old running around.

I really thought it was a girl, really, but I was doubting my instincts.
The ultra-sound tech and my doctor (on seperate occasions) said that it looked like she was picking her nose.

Like brother like sister I suppose!

Tell Me About...

Wyatt officially entered the question phase about a month ago.
It all started with a trip to the beach. The water heater went out and daddy and papa spent a good part of the day replacing it. All this hubbub fascinated him. He couldn't help himself, even when told not to "go in there", he kept finding himself right in the middle of all the action. When everything was all said and done, he kept wanting to go in and look at the water heater. A while later, we were talking in the morning and he asked me to "tell him about the water heater". So, I told him what I could come up with, and then he asked to hear it again....and again...and again.
Then during that same time, he asked me to "tell him about the farm alarm" (fire alarm). So I told him that one again and again and again. So, I FINALLY told him that we needed to take a break and go have breakfast.

Lately he's been asking us to "tell him about the washer and dryer"

And for some time now, he's also had an obsession with cranes. He will spot them from a mile away. He's almost always right too. Even when I don't see it right away, if I look really hard, super far away, then I find it. One night, we didn't see any cranes while driving from 'here to there' and we had one disappointed little boy on our hands. So, instead I found him this video on YouTube:
